What's It All About?

"The unexamined life is not worth living." Socrates

While you’re here, in this time and in this space, you are beautiful and you are perfect.

You are right where you need to be to get to where you want to go, so start asking yourself where you want to go.

2026 and Work

Put all my eggs in one basket. Researched all the changes that have gone on the last 25+ years since I last worked for them. (Expanded lobby! Second stage! Union!)

Thought about the fact that there would probably be new ticketing software.

Figured out what I’d wear for the interview, if I got the second interview.

Flashback. This is the cover letter. And it was true with ever fiber of my being.

Dear Hiring Team,

I was excited to see the Ticket Office Associate opportunity at Children’s Theatre Company and am pleased to submit my application.

My career in performing arts patron service began as a Box Office Associate at the Ordway Music Theatre and later included Ticket Office Reservations at Children’s Theatre Company, along with ticket office and patron service roles at several Twin Cities arts organizations. Those experiences taught me how important the ticket office is in creating a welcoming, positive experience for every patron.

Since then, I have expanded those skills through more than thirteen years with Delta Air Lines, where I supported reservations, ticketing, and premium group clients, and later through customer support at Capella University. Across every role, I have built a reputation for professionalism, empathy, clear communication, attention to detail, and helping people find solutions.

I would be honored to return to Children’s Theatre Company and contribute to the outstanding service your patrons expect. The opportunity to bring both my early performing arts experience and the customer service skills I have developed over the years back to CTC is one I find genuinely exciting.

Thank you for your time and consideration. I would welcome the opportunity to discuss how my background and enthusiasm for patron service can contribute to your team.

I really wanted this one. And it hurt to get the rejection letter. I’m telling myself It wasn’t because of my age. And it wasn’t because of my interview, which maybe didn’t go as well as It could’ve…but maybe we just weren’t the right fit. Maybe I can’t go back to that world. That was the world of my 20s…and maybe you really just can’t go back.

Anyway, I applied at Massage Envy in Edina. Chat asked me if I was OK with sales and I said hell, yeah! I can sell massages. Women need to take better care of themselves. People need to take better care of themselves! And maybe I can get my sweetie in for a massage cause I can’t give him one as good as he deserves. Yeah, now I’m actually kind of wanting this one.

Hopefully the hours would work and I wouldn’t have to be doing cleanup… so I think I would need to avoid maybe the closing shift but anyway I would need just like an afternoon shift part-time and/or maybe if I get to pick my hours, that would be nice.

I applied for some other word processing administrative thing too…and I’ll check in with the temp agencies.

I’ll work again. I need to be working again.

I could also apply for SSDI but I’m not ready to start applying for disability. I’m not giving up on myself yet cause that’s the way I’m looking at it. My body is not the best as it could be, but I’m going to keep trying and that includes starting Zepbound this week and we’ll hope third time is the charm!

Water. Protein. Fiber. Activity. Still gotta pay attention and care about that shit.
