So he called today. I didn't pick up. I let it go to voice mail (but even then there was only a 75% chance he'd actually leave one but lo and behold, he did!) ...his message was the usual "...Hi, it's me. Just calling to say Hi. It's about 4pm and I'm at work. Give me a call when you have a chance..."
So either he's not gotten around to reading the email (which wouldn't necessarily surprise me...I usually have to tell him that I've sent him an email...so maybe it was not the wisest idea to tell him I wanted the break via email...) or he's playing dumb. If it's the former, well, I guess I'm the idiot for thinking that that was the way to handle this knowing he doesn't just sit around waiting for my emails and if it's the latter...well I'm just going to be royally pissed about the fact that he has not called me in over a week.
I guess if he truly hasn't gotten around to reading the email, well, hopefully he'll get around to it when he doesn't hear back from me this week. And then we'll see if he calls again or does indeed wait until after the fair is over.
Grrrr.
I've been doing really well at displaying self-control in the moments I have a strong urge to call him. I do miss him. Miss knowing he's there in my life, even if lately he's not really been there as much as he used to be.
Sigh. I've yet to know what I want going forward. I guess I'll just have to keep doing the wait and see thing won't I? See what he has to say and how I feel next week.

Another weekend draws to a close. Kept it a pretty mellow weekend. Just caught up on all sorts of TV shows ...Top Chef, MasterChef, Drop Dead Diva, Covert Affairs, White Collar, Royal Pains...and now back to work tomorrow. Yay. Not. But it does keep me from being bored doesn't it?
