What's It All About?

"The unexamined life is not worth living." Socrates

While you’re here, in this time and in this space, you are beautiful and you are perfect.

You are right where you need to be to get to where you want to go, so start asking yourself where you want to go.

Do What You Love...

The Money Will Follow. Am finally reading it and it's ringing some bells ...I think I read it years ago but the re-reading of it is not a bad thing. It's message has a lot to do with self-esteem and self-confidence because by having both of those things you have the courage to make the choices that are the best for you (and you alone) in pursuing work you love.

I really like this particular bit:

An except from David Viscott M.D.'s book "The Language of Feelings"

Your ultimate goal in life is to become your best self. Your immediate goal is to get on the path that will lead you there. ...You are here to develop and grow, to do your share to make the outside world a better place to live, to make the immediate world in which you live, the world that is you as honest and as true to your feelings as you possibly can.

Huh. As mentioned before I'm the only one getting in my own way ..and this book addresses that.

It talks about discipline and how it's a powerful tool for getting what you really want out of life (duh!) and those who are unsuccessful or unfulfilled (uh, me, the unfulfilled) have habit patterns that help avoid challenges, demands and the use of talents. (Actually I don't fully agree with the talent thing -I definitely use that at work) preferring comfort, safety and invisibility and I soooooo agree with that.

Because what is my life these days? A job that I dislike so much that I take unpaid time off just not to be at but then waste those days off by not doing anything productive aka find a new job. I'm not doing anything to make my life better because it is scary. I have been though enough drama and change in my lifetime...but there has got to be a better alternative than my current reality.

So what does all of this have to do with making money from what you love? Well, I'm not finished with the book yet but I'll let you know.
